In ancient Zoroastrianism it is said to always uphold yourself to have right thoughts, right words and right deeds. Marcus Aurelius echoes this with his quote. Whether he knew it or not, each thought is like a scrape across your mind. Neurologically we find that a thought physically traces itself in your brain. This means that thoughts easily become thought patterns because the grooves in our brains are being dug deeper. Be careful what kind of paths you are allowing to be created in your own mind. Some paths are definitely more worthy than others and some paths are not worthy of your time at all.
