What A World

Quote of the Day

“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.” — Audrey Hepburn

eyes

We are all siblings in the grand scheme of nature. We come from the same something. When we reach outwards and find beauty in others, it makes us all the more beautiful. Not only are we enjoying the beauty of the world but we are facilitating the progress of beauty by seeking it and letting it be seen. When you see beauty, know it lives inside of you or you would not be able to recognize it.

Anxiety

“Never let the future disturb you. You will meet it, if you have to, with the same weapons of reason which today arm you against the present.” — Marcus Aurelius

meditation

You are in possession of everything you need for the present moment. Let the next moment worry about itself when it is a real thing! The future is false- meaning it is not reality. It is not real right now. Focus on right now until the future arrives.

First Things First

“Do the difficult things while they are easy and do the great things while they are small. A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.” — Lao Tzu

journey

This quote is summed up by one of my favorite cliche idioms- “First things first.” which is so elementary and simple that we often forget to use the principle. Start small, take a first step. Do not let anything grow into bigger problems by letting them sit there unattended. Tend to the hard things as well as the easy because the hard things do not get easier- they become more and more difficult. A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step. First things first.

From The Horse's Mouth

Things may not be immediately discernible in what a man writes, and in this sometimes he is fortunate; but eventually they are quite clear, and by these and the degree of alchemy that he possesses, he will endure or be forgotten. — Ernest Hemingway
